RIP Cyril Senior

Sadly the association has to announce the death of a life member, former committee member and watcher, Cyril Senior, who died on Saturday 4th February, aged 91 years and 2 days.

He and several members of his family have been on the committee for many years, indeed his son David, and daughter-in-law Sue, are current committee members.

Our thoughts are with his family at this time.

Funeral arrangements Nab Wood Crematorium 2.00 pm Wednesday February 15th 2012.

RIP Brian Butterworth

Sadly the association has to announce the death of a committee member, Brian Butterworth, who died at home on christmas eve, Saturday 24th December, aged 80. Funeral service will be held at Crag Road Methodist Church, Windhill, Shipley, on Monday, January 9, at 2.15 pm, followed by cremation at Nab Wood Crematorium. He will be missed by his colleagues on the committee.

RIP Michael Troman

Sadly the association has to announce the death of its president, William Michael Troman who died in his sleep, this afternoon Monday 24th January at the age of 88 years in Fairmount Nursing Home, Nab Wood, Shipley.

He was born on 27th December 1922 and his wife Joyce survives him.

For many years Michael virtually ran the club having held at some point nearly every office in the association in the last 60 or so years.

Match Rules 2010

Match Rules 2010

  1. One Rod, Line, Hook, No double or treble hooks allowed.
  2. Additional Rod & Poles may be tackled up ready for use provided they are displayed on the bank behind the competitor.
  3. Ground bait may be prepared on the bank, but not used until the match commences.
  4. All eligible fish to be kept in keepnets and returned to the water after weighing in. Keepnets must be fish friendly and comply with current legislation.
  5. All fish to count except sticklebacks & shell fish (Trout to count when in season i.e. 25th March to 30th Sept inclusive).
  6. Competitors must fish within one yard each side of the peg.
  7. Competitors must not allow their bait to travel below the next peg.
  8. Competitors may assist their neighbours in landing fish.
  9. Any fish landed after the call of time shall be eligible for weighing in if hooked during the progress of the match.
  10. On the signal to commence and cease fishing competitors will assist by shouting the signal to others taking part in the match.
  11. No second draw allowed.
  12. Competitors are requested to collect peg wire and any litter, and return the same to an official after the match.
  13. The banning of Bloodworm and Joker on any Saltaire matches is at the discretion of the match secretary and two members of the match committee. Otherwise all legal baits allowed.

Match Rules Standing Orders

  1. Match Secretaries must notify the website maintainer of the sections in use by phone or SMS before the draw takes place so that any Post or Auto-Post on the Weblog can be corrected so that members may read on the website(s) up to date information as to the areas that are actually in use for matches.

Persons shall be admitted as members on the following terms, acceptance of, and compliance with the rules of the club, an annual subscription of £20.00 which shall entitle the member to all the privileges of the Association. All subscriptions must be paid in advance. The tickets of membership to terminate on December 31st of each year. Youths under 16 years of age, £10.00, Ladies £10.00, Disabled £10.00, OAP’s £10.00. Subscription reduced from September 30th to December 31st to £5.00. Second rod permits are available at £5.00.
